Basketball Recap: Northeastern Clinton Comes Up Short on the Road Against Ausable Valley

Northeastern Clinton had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the AuSable Valley Patriots and fell 71-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since January 4th.

AuSable Valley was led to victory by Aiden Blaise and Robert Amato. Blaise dropped a double-double with 21 points and 20 boards, while Amato went 7-for-15 on his way to 20 points and seven steals. Those 21 points gave Blaise a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marco Amato, who posted nine points.

AuSable Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeastern Clinton will take on Beekmantown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for AuSable Valley, they will challenge Moriah at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
