Baseball Game Preview: Denton Broncos vs. Eagle Mountain Knights

The Denton Broncos will take on the Eagle Mountain Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Denton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Denton and Crowley meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Broncos had just enough and edged out the Eagles 3-1.

Jimmy Turner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Denton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Andoga, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eagle Mountain, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Decatur a 6-0 shutout on Thursday.

Denton's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15-2. As for Eagle Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
