Flatirons Academy had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 65-point drubbing they dealt Clear Creek on Thursday. The Flatirons Academy Bison really took it to the Clear Creek Golddiggers for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-3 victory. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Flatirons Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Annabelle Rakers led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine assists. That's the most assists Rakers has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Rabus, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Rakers wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Flatirons Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Flatirons Academy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points over those games. As for Clear Creek, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Flatirons Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-15 win against Loveland Classical on the 7th. As for Clear Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-7 loss against Gilpin County on the 8th.
