Soccer Game Preview: Bella Vista vs. Rio Americano

The Bella Vista Broncos will take on the Rio Americano Raiders at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rio Americano will have to contend with a Bella Vista squad hungry for a victory, something the team hasn't seen since the fourth. Neither Bella Vista nor Ponderosa could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Liam Stanley and Melver Rangel Gutierrez scored both of Bella Vista's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Rio Americano came up short against Woodcreek on Thursday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 49th).

This is the second loss in a row for Rio Americano and nudges their season record down to 4-6-2. With that draw, Bella Vista's record moves to 4-2-4.

Bella Vista beat Rio Americano by a goal in their previous meeting on January 4th, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bella Vista since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
