Basketball Recap: Sumner Find Success

Sumner hadn't done well against Amite recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Sumner Cowboys walked away with a 70-59 win over the Amite Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Cowboys: when they faced off against the Warriors back in December of 2024, they had to take a 65-55 defeat.

Sumner is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Amite, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-23.

Sumner has already played their next game, a 54-35 loss against Albany on the 28th. Amite has also already played their next contest (against Springfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
