Soccer Recap: Fort Myers Takes a Loss

Fort Myers and Mariner squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Fort Myers had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mariner Tritons. The defeat continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Tritons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Fort Myers' goal came courtesy of MacKenzie Root, who's now up to four this season.

Fort Myers' loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Mariner, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.

Fort Myers wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-2 defeat against Braden River on the 4th. As for Mariner, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 loss against North Fort Myers on the 28th.
