Baseball Game Preview: Rowlett Eagles vs. Tyler Legacy Raiders

For the second straight game, Rowlett will face off against Tyler Legacy. The Eagles will face off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rowlett's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rowlett heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Tyler Legacy by a score of 3-2.

Rowlett got a good showing from Landon Bertucci, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Bertucci has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Roger Funke was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

The win was the fifth in a row for Tyler Legacy, bringing their record up to 16-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Rowlett, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8-1.
