Basketball Game Preview: Girard Indians vs. McDonald Blue Devils

The Girard Indians and the McDonald Blue Devils will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Girard is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell just short of Poland Seminary by a score of 59-56 last Tuesday. The Indians have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, McDonald entered their tilt with Waterloo on Monday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their match with ease, bagging a 63-27 win over the Vikings. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 31 points or more this season.

Girard's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for McDonald, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Girard came up short against McDonald in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 57-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of McDonald's Joey Cappuzzello, who went 5 of 10 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds.
