Soccer Game Preview: Hanford West vs. Washington Union

The Hanford West Huskies will square off against the Washington Union Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hanford West's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Hanford West is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Immanuel on Friday. Hanford West fell just short of Immanuel by a score of 2-1.

Hanford West's goal came courtesy of Gonzalo Nunez, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Washington Union hasn't lost a match since December 11, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Neither they nor Reedley could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Hanford West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. With that draw, Washington Union's record moves to 8-6-3.

Hanford West might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Washington Union in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Hanford West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
