Community School of Davidson had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it six. They took down the Surry Central Golden Eagles 62-48. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Eagles, too.

As for Surry Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points over those games.

Loss or not, Surry Central got some senior leadership from Jax Whitaker and Damen Hazelwood. Whitaker posted 16 points and four steals, while Hazelwood went 6-for-10 on his way to 18 points. Hazelwood also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 60%. Another player making a difference was Brayden Woodring, who put up six points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community School of Davidson will welcome North Wilkes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Surry Central, they will face off against North Forsyth at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
