Basketball Game Preview: Wylie Bulldogs vs. Plainview Bulldogs

The Wylie Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Plainview Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wylie comes in on ten and Plainview on five.

Last Tuesday, Wylie was able to grind out a solid victory over Memorial, taking the game 46-35. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Mavericks are ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Plainview escaped with a win on Tuesday against Lubbock by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46.

Wylie is also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points per game. As for Plainview, they pushed their record up to 19-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Wylie strolled past Plainview when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 72-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wylie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
