Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Gaston). They blew past the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets 9-0 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for East Gaston considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Their offense was hitting Bessemer City from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Kayla Maiers led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

The win snapped East Gaston's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3-1 record. As for Bessemer City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Gaston will head out to square off against Shelby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelby will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something East Gaston surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bessemer City, they will venture away from home to challenge Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
