Gateway Christian's Andrew Meeks rumbled for the longest rushing play in 8-Man District 3 (8 Man) this season in his game against Foothill last week. Meeks ran for 79 yards on the play and finished with 158 on the day as his team topped the Falcons.
Meeks and Jacob Moody provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Foothill. The connection was good for 78 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Gateway Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Meeks has thrown for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Moody has 4 catches for 141 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Melrose/Clovis Christian and Gateway Christian. Melrose/Clovis Christian enters the game ranked seventh in the state, while Shaun Wigley's team ranks first.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 8-Man District 3 (8 Man) this week, the Warriors beat Patrick Quillen's team 64-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
