Softball Game Preview: Hialeah Gardens Gladiators vs. Hialeah Thoroughbreds

Hialeah Gardens has gone 9-1 against Hialeah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hialeah Gardens Gladiators will be playing at home against the Hialeah Thoroughbreds at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Hialeah Gardens took a 18-run defeat the last time they faced off against Southwest, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Hialeah Gardens narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Southwest 19-18. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gladiators.

Krystina Martinez was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three doubles, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Emily Garcia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Martinez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hialeah Gardens kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hialeah made easy work of Goleman on Tuesday and carried off a 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Thoroughbreds, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Hialeah Gardens' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.7 runs over those games. As for Hialeah, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Hialeah Gardens took their victory against Hialeah in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0. Does Hialeah Gardens have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hialeah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
