Volleyball Recap: Kingwood Comes Up Short

Kingwood lost against Summer Creek back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bulldogs since Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 19-25, 25-15.

Alton Wascome paced Kingwood's offense, picking up 11 kills. Wascome got some help from Carly Thomas and her 33 assists.

Kingwood's defeat dropped their record down to 13-25. As for Summer Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kingwood will face off against rival Humble at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Summer Creek is set to challenge their familiar foe North Shore at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
