Basketball Recap: Brantley Bulldogs vs. Elba Tigers
Brantley lost against Elba back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. 2025 welcomed the Brantley Bulldogs with a 56-33 loss courtesy of the Elba Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Tigers are ranked 136th).

Despite the defeat, Brantley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore CoCo Stamps went 7 for 14 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Stamps has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 27 times she's played. Myia Mount was another key player, putting up eight points and 17 rebounds.
Brantley now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Elba, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Brantley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 42-38 win against Long on the 3rd. As for Elba, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-50 loss against Ariton on the 3rd.
