Baseball Recap: Aurora Greenmen vs. Barberton Magics

Aurora had lost six straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 6-16 to make it seven. They fell 7-3 to the Barberton Magics. Greenmen fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Magics since on Tuesday.

Aurora saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Aydan Carlson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Barberton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Barberton's side, Javon Clayton was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Clayton has posted since back in April of 2024. Cam McNulty was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aurora will challenge Independence at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Greenmen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Barberton, they will face off against Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
