Baseball Recap: Lyndon Takes a Loss

Lyndon extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-7. They lost 21-0 to the Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Marais des Cygnes Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Marais des Cygnes Valley's part, Gus Ford was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ford was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double.

In other batting news, Marais des Cygnes Valley got a massive performance out of Landon Reed, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave Reed a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Calderwood, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs.

Marais des Cygnes Valley will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Marmaton Valley on the 27th. Lyndon will be paying especially close attention to the Trojans' matchup: after the Trojans face off against Chase County, they'll take on Lyndon again on Monday.
