Softball Recap: Airport Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lexington, Airport was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets a 17-0 shutout. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 8.5 runs per game.

Airport got a massive performance out of Ariana Feliciano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Feliciano a new career-high. Abigail Gartman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Airport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Airport's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Airport beat Aiken by a score of 7-2 later that day.
