Game recap: Cosumnes Oaks defeats Livermore with big 24-point quarter

Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove, Calif.) had a big 24-point third quarter on Saturday, sealing a 31-7 victory over Livermore (Calif.).

The Wolfpack scored on a touchdown run by Kaelin Willhite, a touchdown pass by Jordan Ares to Alex Van Dyke and a Ares touchdown run in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Dwayne Darden in the second quarter, Cosumnes Oaks led 7-0 at the half.

CO expanded its lead to 31 points entering the fourth quarter. The Elk Grove school scored four times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Willhite.

The Cowboys' Tyler Rardon was the standout player for his team. He ran for one touchdown.

Ares was the top performer for the Wolfpack. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.



Livermore's lone touchdown came on a 19-yard run by Rardon in the fourth quarter.

The defeat comes as a step back for Livermore, which notched a 40-13 victory over Hayward in its previous outing. With the win Cosumnes Oaks extended its winning streak to three games. The loss snapped LHS's 2-game winning streak.

Cosumnes Oaks (3-0) goes up against Franklin in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Livermore (2-1) locks horns with San Ramon Valley in a East Bay game.
