Softball Recap: Hazel Green Takes a Loss

Hazel Green fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Buckhorn on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 7-6. That makes it the first time this season the Trojans have let down their home crowd.

Hazel Green's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 19-11. As for Buckhorn, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11-1 record this season.

Hazel Green will welcome Sparkman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Senators will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. Buckhorn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
