After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bellefonte, St. Marys was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Clarion-Limestone Lions by a score of 11-6. With that victory, the Flying Dutch brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Jackson Vollmer was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Michael Miller, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

St. Marys hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clarion-Limestone struck out 11 times.

St. Marys has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Clarion-Limestone, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Marys will face off against DuBois at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Beavers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Flying Dutch's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Clarion-Limestone, they will challenge Brockway at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
