Volleyball Recap: Rocky Ford Takes a Loss

Rocky Ford came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Swallows Charter Academy Spartans. The Meloneers haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 25-13.

Swallows Charter Academy found their leader in sophomore Riley James, who had seven digs and seven aces.

Rocky Ford's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Swallows Charter Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocky Ford will square off against Cheraw at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Swallows Charter Academy, they will take on Rye at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
