Basketball Recap: Harleton Takes a Loss

Harleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Troup Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1469th, while the Tigers are ranked 685th).

Harleton's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Troup, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Harleton and Alto will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Troup, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Apple Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Troup knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Apple Springs likes a good challenge.
