Recap: Fruita Monument Wildcats vs. Broomfield Eagles

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Fruita Monument Wildcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 84-79 win over Broomfield. The win was just business as usual for Fruita Monument, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fruita Monument to victory, but perhaps none more so than Max Orchard, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Orchard's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austin Reed, who scored 18 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.

Broomfield's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Blaes Kane, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds. Will Lapham was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 assists and 3 steals.

Fruita Monument's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Broomfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Fruita Monument is on the road again on Friday and play against Arvada West at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. Arvada West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Fruita Monument is ranked fifth). As for Broomfield, they will take on Green Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Green Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday.
