Baseball Game Preview: Citrus Valley Blackhawks vs. Redlands Terriers

For the second straight game, Citrus Valley will face off against Redlands. The Blackhawks will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Terriers at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Citrus Valley has three straight wins, Redlands has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Citrus Valley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Redlands on Tuesday. The Blackhawks put the hurt on the Terriers with a sharp 13-3 victory.

Nolan Tornberg looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Citrus Valley is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole West, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adrian Abarca, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Citrus Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Redlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
