League recap: Brandt races to league-leading run for Sedgwick

Sedgwick's Dalton Brandt rumbled for the longest rushing play in Heart of America this season in his game against Bluestem last week. Brandt ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 314 on the day as his team defeated the Lions.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Sedgwick beat Bluestem 61-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

The Cardinals' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brylie Ware threw for 211 and 3 touchdowns and Tanner Liby had 103 yards receiving. On the ground Brandt contributed 314 yards. Greer Chandler helped Sedgwick's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 62 yards.

Brandt provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Sedgwick beat Kyle Wallis' team. Brandt's key target this week was Liby, who caught 2 passes for 103 yards.

Brandt was a beast in the backfield as the Cardinals defeated the Lions.

Bryce Wenthe was a key player and the best on defense this week as Inman lost to Sterling. The 6-foot-0 senior forced 1 fumble, recorded 1 fumble and grabbed 1 sack.

Ware put up the best numbers in passing as Sedgwick topped Bluestem.

Sedgwick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cardinals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ware has thrown for 1,993 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Chandler has 41 catches for 683 yards.

Entering into this week's contest against Remington, Ware is short just 7 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Moundridge takes on Marion. As it stands, the Wildcats are in sixth, while the Warriors are in second.

Sedgwick took down the Lions 61-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ware ran for 81 yards during the win.
