Baseball Recap: Duncan Comes Up Short

After flying high against Patagonia on Wednesday, Duncan came back down to earth. The Wildkats fell just short of the Baboquivari Warriors by a score of 13-12 on Friday. The Wildkats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 11-9.

Dayton Penry was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gus Pope, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The loss snapped Duncan's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record. As for Baboquivari, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season.

Duncan will challenge Ray at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. The Bearcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wildkats surely won't give up without a fight. Baboquivari does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
