Volleyball Recap: Clinton Prairie Takes a Loss

Clinton Prairie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Crawfordsville Athenians. The Gophers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Athenians from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Clinton Prairie ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-18.

Emmy Kaser paced Clinton Prairie's offense, picking up nine kills. Kaser got some help from Alexis Perez and her 11 assists. Kyndall Friedrich and Ellie Brettnacher kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Crawfordsville was led to victory by Alayna Hall and Claire Peacock. Hall had 13 digs and two assists, while Peacock hit 77.8% for seven kills and eight digs and three aces. The last time Peacock's hitting percentage was this high was over her last six matches.

Clinton Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Clinton Prairie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Delphi Community on the 7th. As for Crawfordsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Frankfort on the 7th.
