Basketball Recap: Coram Deo Academy Takes a Loss

Coram Deo Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 96-50 defeat at the hands of the Trinity Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, Coram Deo Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1158th, while Trinity Christian is ranked 324th).

Despite the loss, Coram Deo Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah Langat went 9 of 16 en route to 28 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Langat has scored all season.

Trinity Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lucai Anderson out in front who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points and seven rebounds. Anderson has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 12 times he's played. Jett Mccasland was another key player, going 6 of 7 en route to 18 points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Coram Deo Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Trinity Christian, they pushed their record up to 19-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coram Deo Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 99-85 loss against Southwest Christian School on the 4th. As for Trinity Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-36 victory against Midland Christian on the 4th.
