Baseball Recap: Whittier Takes a Loss

Whittier lost against California back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Condors by a score of 7-6.

Whittier got a good showing from Adrian Magallanes, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest earned runs Magallanes has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Ryan Jimenez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Carl Collins was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Whittier has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for California, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Whittier has already played their next game, a 5-2 loss against El Rancho on the 4th. As for California, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Fe at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
