Football Recap: San Marcos Starts Season with Win on the Road

San Marcos had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Santa Maria Saints 39-0. That's more bragging rights for the Royals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to San Marcos' defense and their three sacks. Janelle Capuno was especially locked on to Santa Maria's QB and sacked her twice. Victoria Aldana got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

San Marcos didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-7 victory against Westlake on the 14th. As for Santa Maria, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Paso Robles at 7:00 p.m. on September 18.
