Gainesville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on Cabool with a sharp 16-1 victory. Gainesville hasn't had any issues with Cabool recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Cabool's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Gainesville and Reeds Spring will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cabool, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Alton at 4:30 p.m. on April 1.
