Softball Recap: Albemarle Patriots vs. Western Albemarle Warriors
Albemarle had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it seven. They lost 10-0 to the Western Albemarle Warriors. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 8-2 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Western Albemarle, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-3. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
For Western Albemarle's part, Lillie Boyle looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Aniyah Sims was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Addy Hux was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Albemarle will face off against Orange County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
