Baseball Recap: Enochs Comes Up Short

Enochs dropped down to 13-12 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Downey Knights by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Enochs got a good showing from Jack Conner, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits Conner has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Drake Loomis made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

As for Downey, they moved to 7-18 with that victory, which also ended their ten-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Enochs since April 6, 2023.

On Downey's side, Owen Sacuskie was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Sacuskie has posted since back in March.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enochs will host Modesto at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.22 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Downey, they will be playing at home against Gregori at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
