Baseball Game Preview: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Mount Union Trojans

The Tussey Mountain Titans will square off against the Mount Union Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Tussey Mountain's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Southern Huntingdon County 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mount Union beat Northern Bedford County 6-1 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Nasir Collins was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Dylan Shawver was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Mount Union hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in eight consecutive games.

Tussey Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Union, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
