Preview: Central Valley Warriors vs. Hopewell Vikings
Central Valley has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hopewell Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Central Valley won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by North Catholic 73-46. Central Valley has struggled against North Catholic recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Hopewell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 82-56 defeat at the hands of Lincoln Park Performing Arts. While losing is never fun, Hopewell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while Lincoln Park Performing Arts is ranked 15th).
Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Hopewell, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Central Valley against Hopewell in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 53-25 win. Does Central Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hopewell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
