Soccer Recap: Vernon Hills Comes Up Short

The matchup between Vernon Hills and New Trier on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cougars came up short against the Trevians, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Vernon Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 161st, while New Trier are ranked second).

This is the second loss in a row for Vernon Hills and nudges their season record down to 6-8-2. As for New Trier, their win bumped their record up to 19-1-3.
