Softball Recap: Palm Bay Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cocoa Beach, Palm Bay was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Westwood Panthers 30-15. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Palm Bay got a massive performance out of Amirah Roberts, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Roberts also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Miya Reed, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.

Palm Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Palm Bay's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Westwood, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Palm Bay will square off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westwood, they will face off against Morningside Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
