Baseball Game Preview: Gorman Panthers vs. De Leon Bearcats

Gorman hasn't had much luck against De Leon recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gorman Panthers will square off against the De Leon Bearcats at 7:00 p.m.

Gorman saw some tournament action on Friday. They lost 21-1 to Lipan.

Meanwhile, De Leon waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against the Tigers.

Brenner Wright was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Zmeskal, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

De Leon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Gorman's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for De Leon, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

Gorman came out on top in a nail-biter against De Leon when the teams last played back in April of 2023, sneaking past 9-7. Will Gorman repeat their success, or does De Leon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
