Basketball Game Preview: Henrietta Bearcats vs. Vernon Lions

Henrietta is 1-9 against Vernon since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Henrietta Bearcats face off against the Vernon Lions at 3:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Henrietta is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of Holliday. The contest marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Vernon unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Mineral Wells 43-38.

Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Henrietta, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Henrietta was dealt a bruising 71-36 loss at the hands of Vernon in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Henrietta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
