Preview: Teague Lions vs. Groesbeck Goats
Teague has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Groesbeck Goats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Teague posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They blew past Buffalo 56-28 at home. The win was just what Teague needed coming off of a 72-50 defeat in their prior match.
Teague's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jehmel Rice, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Rice has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Brayden Leija was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Groesbeck scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 57-56 victory over Fairfield. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Groesbeck.
Teague's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Groesbeck, their win bumped their record up to 3-17.
Teague strolled past Groesbeck in their previous meeting on January 2nd by a score of 49-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Teague since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
