Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Heights Falcons vs. Bishop Rosecrans Bishops

The Franklin Heights Falcons will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Franklin Heights is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Buckeye Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Franklin Heights was dealt a 53-24 loss at the hands of Buckeye Valley. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-9.

Meanwhile, Bishop Rosecrans came up short against Fisher Catholic last Friday and fell 64-51. While losing is never fun, the Bishops can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Irish are ranked 150th).

Franklin Heights will need focus on slowing down Emily Jenkins, one of several Bishop Rosecrans players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 14 points. Abby Sagan was another key player, putting up ten points.

Bishop Rosecrans now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Franklin Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Franklin Heights came up short against Bishop Rosecrans in their previous meeting back in January, falling 44-37. Can Franklin Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
