Basketball Game Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Evergreen Cougars

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the D'Evelyn Jaguars face off against the Evergreen Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday... D'Evelyn comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

D'Evelyn is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Longmont on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. D'Evelyn was beaten by Longmont 62-28. The match marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Evergreen beat Eagle Valley 72-63 on Thursday.

Evergreen has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for D'Evelyn, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

D'Evelyn might still be hurting after the 61-39 loss they got from Evergreen when the teams last played back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Evergreen's Lukas Mccanna, who went 9 for 13 en route to 20 points and five boards.
