Softball Recap: Destiny Christian Triumphs

Destiny Christian proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 15) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Garrett Memorial Christian Saints 5-4. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Zoey Landers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lily McCutchan, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Rae Whomble, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Destiny Christian's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Garrett Memorial Christian, they moved to 7-5-1 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Destiny Christian has already played their next matchup, a 10-6 win against Sunrise Christian Academy on the 27th. Garrett Memorial Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
