Dysart is on a 18-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Cortez is on a nine-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Dysart Demons will face off against the Cortez Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Dysart against Coronado as the team secured an 84-34 win. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Santiago Leyva continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. Those 29 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamar Anderson, who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points along with seven boards and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Cortez posted their closest victory since December 18, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-72 win over Washington. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Cortez's win came from a few key players Dysart will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kaden Ramirez, who went 7 of 10 to rack up 17 points and four steals. Nygel Lindsey was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds.
Cortez smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.
Dysart is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points over those games. As for Cortez, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
Tuesday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Anderson and Lindsey. Anderson has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 16.5 points, 1.5 blocks, and 4.6 assists on 54.3% shooting. For his part, Lindsey has averaged 13.2 points, 2.7 steals, and 10.9 boards.
Everything went Dysart's way against Cortez in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Dysart made off with a 62-37 victory. Will Dysart repeat their success, or does Cortez have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
