Basketball Recap: Urbana Comes Up Short

Urbana won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were beaten by the Trinity Christian Academy Lions 75-44. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 244th in Illinois, while the Lions are ranked 43rd in Tennessee).

Urbana has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Urbana will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Normal Community at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Trinity Christian Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against South Gibson at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
