Baseball Recap: Needville Falls Short of Calhoun in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Needville can now relate to. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calhoun Sandcrabs on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Sandcrabs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-2 loss on Saturday.

This is the second loss in a row for Needville and nudges their season record down to 17-11. As for Calhoun, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-14-1 record this season.

Needville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calhoun, they will take on Tuloso-Midway on Thursday. The Warriors & Cherokees' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Sandcrabs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
