Volleyball Game Preview: Ellendale Cardinals vs. South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] Mustangs

The Ellendale Cardinals will face off against the South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Ellendale came up short against LaMoure/Litchville-Marion and fell 3-1. The Cardinals have struggled against the Loboes recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Ellendale started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-21.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley], who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They put the hurt on Leola/Frederick with a sharp 3-0 win last Monday.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 35-33, 25-23.

South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley]'s first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Ellendale, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Ellendale might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] in their previous matchup back in October of 2024.
