Basketball Recap: Massac County Patriots vs. Ballard Memorial Bombers
The Massac County Patriots's and the Ballard Memorial Bombers's game on Saturday was close at halftime, but the Massac County Patriots turned on the heat in the second half with 47 points. Massac County put the hurt on the Bombers with a sharp 85-64 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Isaac Hosman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Will Harmon, who scored 24 points.
Massac County is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Ballard Memorial, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Massac County will face off against the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Herrin will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Ballard Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bluejays at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Charleston is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
